Sodashi She was a mare who competed from 2020 to 2023. She won the Sapporo Nisai Stakes (GⅢ) in a juvenile record time, then became the world’s first white-haired horse to claim a GⅠ victory in the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies, and broke the course record in the Oka Sho (GⅠ). Undefeated thus far, the pure white queen was born in both name and performance! However, contrary to expectations, while she cruised to victory in the Sapporo Kinen (GⅡ), she showed instability at distances beyond a mile, and even had an incident at the gate in the Shuka Sho (GⅠ). Still, signs of revival appeared with the February Stakes (GⅠ), followed by a triumphant return after about nine months in the Victoria Mile (GⅠ), remaining undefeated in turf mile races—her comeback as the pure white queen was complete. Though that was her final victory, Sodashi earned immense popularity as an idol horse—publishing two photo books and selling out plush toys in mere minutes. Though she had a difficult temperament, swinging her feed bucket while eating, apparently she was still more manageable than “Golshi.”
