豪G1クイーンズランドオークス（3歳牝、芝2200m）が2024年6月8日にオーストラリアのイーグルファーム競馬場で18頭により争われ、単勝101倍の16番人気ソックスネーションが2番手追走から直線で抜け出し、アワーゴールドホープ（6番人気タイ）の追撃を振り切って波乱を呼んだ。
ソックスネーションは飛ばす逃げ馬を約2馬身差の位置で積極的に追い掛け、さらに5馬身ほど離れた4番手にアワーゴールドホープで中間点を通過。直線入口でソックスネーションが先頭をかわすと、アワーゴールドホープの追撃を受けて一時は馬体が並んだが、そこから二の足を繰り出して0.24馬身振り切った。
後方から馬群の中を伸びた9番人気のミスジョーリーンがさらに2.61馬身差の3着に続き、1番人気のスカーレットオークは後方のまま反応が悪く、J.マクドナルド騎手が直線早々に追うのを止めて最下位でゴールした。
ソックスネーションはC.マー調教師が管理するスーネーション（父スキャットダディ）産駒。昨年11月29日にデビュー4戦目で初勝利を挙げ、年明け2月のG2オータムクラシック、3月のG3アレクサンドラステークスはともに4着に終わったものの、3度目の挑戦で重賞初制覇となった。これで通算成績を12戦3勝（2着3回）としている。
なお、豪競馬メディア『racing.com』によると大敗したスカーレットオークの馬体に異常はなく、マクドナルド騎手は同馬がこの一戦に至るまでに余力を使い果たしていたとの感触を述べている。
